Why Curing Shouldn't Stop You From Continuing Work
Know how to protect your floors and surfaces while they cure!

Curing is a vital step in any concrete and wood installations. From floors to walls and surfaces, curing helps strengthen and stabilize your wood or concrete foundation to make sure that it lasts against different temperature or weather conditions, stains, abrasion, scaling, and other factors that it may encounter throughout its use.

Curing for concrete is carried out to achieve and maintain the desired moisture, temperature, and other properties; while curing for wood is performed to make sure that solvents, treatments, or finishes have been absorbed in-depth and fumes are completely gone.

It is not advisable to interfere with the process of curing BUT it shouldn’t stop you from continuing your work while it does its job.

This leads us to the difference between ‘Cure Time’ and ‘Dry Time’:

Cure Time is the time needed for your wood or concrete structures to cure as defined above. It may take days or even months depending on the material and other desired properties.

Dry Time is the amount of time needed for your structures to dry or, in other words, when you can put your hands on it again. Dry Time usually takes shorter periods than curing.

When your surface is already dry but still curing, it’s time to bring in your Breathable Fleece to protect it while you work on other things near or within the area.

Breathable Fleece allows air to flow through it, thus, allowing your floors or surfaces to cure while protecting them from external factors such as dust, scratches, moisture, and debris.

Floorgard Breathable Fleece from SP Group offers all the benefits of any breathable fleece in the market, plus, it’s Fire-Retardant, has low-slip risk, and can be customised with your branding or logo on it.
